You Can Heal Yourself
By Jewa Lea, DC
During this election cycle, one of the hot topics has been healthcare and one of the figures cited in this discussion is the number of persons that do not have health insurance. While one can say the numbers are alarming, I believe this discussion misses the mark completely. It assumes a reactive stance towards health and healthcare and does not promote wellness as a reasonable option.
While I believe health insurance is necessary for emergency-related trauma and congenital conditions, I believe that health and well-being is a personal responsibility. Period. Just look at the conditions that plague our society today: heart disease, obesity, type 2 diabetes, digestive disorders, endocrine disorders, depression, and cancer. All can be addressed via “The 6 Essentials of Life” – 1.what you eat; 2.what you drink; 3.what and how you breathe; 4.how you exercise; 5.how you sleep; and most importantly 6.how and what you think. It is simple (but not easy) and it works. I know because I’ve seen it first-hand. If you have children, then as a parent guiding your children in making great choices in “The 6 Essentials” is the best “preventative medicine.”
Who is the healer in your household? I believe every home should have a healer, not a drug dispenser. Growing up, my grandmother was the healer in our household. Today, as a BEST practitioner, I coach people on “The 6 Essentials” and help balance their nervous system and energy field, so the body can better regulate and heal itself. I also teach people on how to be the healer in their household with a simple, but elegant technique called Family BEST. It was designed to help parents reduce visits to the pediatrician and the emergency room. It works great on babies, kids, and adults. Instead of reaching for the Tylenol, etc., do Family BEST.
Our bodies are self-healing. Family BEST is a tool you can use at home to help your family heal. “The 6 Essentials” and Family BEST 4-hour workshops will be held in October and November 2008. Call 301-421-1420 for more details.
